The spicy kabobs being cooked over a fiery grill formed a cloud of delicious smells that filled the air in the cold, cloudy April day.

The Islamic Faith Academy held their annual Spring Festival on April 22nd, 2017 at the East Texas Islamic Society, located at 10645 State Highway 64 E, Tyler, TX 75705, United States, in order to help raise funds for the school, by selling admission tickets, food including kabobs, frozen vanilla colored pudding, fresh popcorn and fluffy pink and blue cotton candy from rusted machines, and vendor booths for people to sell their things such as exotic dresses that have been placed on display.

The kabobs were very tender and smokey, but slightly burnt with a lot of the brown color of the meat remaining in tack and had a rough texture.

The Muslim Student Association of the University of Texas at Tyler and Texas Junior College arrived early that day to help set up the popcorn, cotton candy and snow cone machines, which were dated, with small hints of rust on the machines. During their time there, they would crush ice to be scooped into cups and topped with colorful syrup, wind up fluffy cotton candy on paper cones , or fill bags with yellow, buttery, warm popcorn that still emitted steam on that chilly day.

There was a petting zoo with , a bounce house that looked like a train, with a yellow frame and wheels, rock climbing and a clown wearing green trousers and boots, with one pant leg being higher than the other, and a shirt that was covered in hotdogs, who was making balloon animals for the kids. The petting zoo included a variety of animals, including fluffy charcoal colored bunny, a mix match of black and white of two ducks, while the others had dark chocolate brown and fourth one was covered in all vanilla white feathers.
